My son used it once on his iMac, but he just sold it and doesn't need this any more. This operating system is a HUGE upgrade to the previous ones. You can install this on a fresh hard drive, or use it to upgrade your existing system. Once it's installed Apple will upgrade it to the latest version (10.5.8, I believe, but my son is the expert.)
